Budget & scope

What are you actually paying for in a website quote?

Two quotes can both say “custom website” and cover completely different jobs. Before comparing the price, compare what you will have when the work is finished.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Ask for the page count, features, revision rounds, handoff, and ongoing costs in writing. That is the quote you can compare.

Start with the job your website needs to do

A plumber who needs customers to call has a different brief from a restaurant taking paid pickup orders. Both need a clear, usable site. Only one needs a menu system, checkout, and an order process that works with the business behind it.

Write down the action that matters most: call, request a quote, book an appointment, or buy. Then list the information someone needs before taking that action. This gives you a useful starting scope without paying for features simply because another business has them.

Compare the work, not just the page count

One page can contain a substantial amount of design and content work. A ten-page site can repeat a simple layout. Ask what is being written, designed, connected, and tested rather than treating each page as an identical unit.

Photos, menus, service descriptions, and logo files also affect the job. Decide who supplies them and who checks the details. If your opening hours or services change during the build, a clear review process makes those updates easier to manage.

  • Pages and sections: name them, rather than leaving “up to” unexplained.
  • Features: distinguish a booking link from a booking system built into the site.
  • Content: agree who writes the words and provides approved images.
  • Revisions: define a round of feedback and the price of extra work.
  • Launch and handoff: confirm what gets tested and what access you receive.

How our starting prices fit the scope

At Your Page, custom work starts at $500. These are starting prices for the listed scope, not an estimate for every possible business. We confirm your pages, features, and final price before a deposit is due.

Basic From $500
One custom page. Up to five custom sections. Mobile design. Click-to-call or contact action. One revision round.
Essential From $1,000
Up to three custom pages. Light copy shaping. Contact or booking link. Analytics setup and one revision round.
Growth From $2,000
Up to five custom pages. Stronger sales copy. One agreed booking or quote flow. Core on-page SEO and content set up for AI-assisted search. Analytics setup and two revision rounds.
Premier From $4,000
Up to ten custom pages. Advanced features agreed in your quote. Integration scope and content direction. Expanded SEO, structured data, and AI search visibility work. Three revision rounds.

Separate the build price from ongoing costs

Ask for domain renewal, hosting, paid tools, and ongoing work to be listed separately. A lower build price is not necessarily a lower total cost if a required monthly agreement follows it. Equally, paid support may be worth it if you want someone else to handle updates.

Our care plans are optional and selected separately. Domain registration, tax, paid tools, e-commerce, custom software, and ongoing SEO are extra unless included in your quote. Higher build packages include the specific search work listed on the pricing page; that does not mean unlimited ongoing SEO.

Know what happens before you pay

With Your Page, submitting the brief does not take a payment. After you approve the scope and price, we send a Stripe invoice for a $500 deposit if required. You review a working preview before launch. The remaining balance is due after final approval, before launch.

If you have two quotes in front of you, mark any line you cannot explain back in plain language. Ask about those lines before choosing. A useful quote should make the job easier to understand.
